Cryptocoryne are one of the most

popular, and widely available aquatic

plants in the aquarium hobby. There

are many types and colour variations,

and it can be found in green, red and

brown to name a few. The size of the

leaves can vary greatly, and even the

texture of the leaves can differ from

plant to plant.


This plant was originally native to Sri Lanka, though it has become established as an invasive species in Florida in recent years. It is commonly found in streams and rivers throughout Sri Lanka, and it tends to grow in shaded areas.

This sturdy variety of tropical freshwater plant is a wonderful addition to any freshwater aquarium. Fantastic as a front and mid ground plant crypts will never fail to deliver.

Compared to other Crypts, it has a very slow rate of growth and can require more light. Cryptocoryne Parva is extremely slow growing and will require patience to achieve lush growth! Cryptocoryne prefer not to be moved once planted. If possible, do not move them! Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium.
